What does it cost to join the bench?
Nothing. It is free to apply and free to remain listed. Hyring takes a transparent platform margin on completed work only, and you keep the majority of what you earn. There is no listing fee, no subscription and no charge for receiving briefs.
Do I have to work exclusively through Hyring?
No, and we would not want that. Keep your own direct clients, work through other channels, and take Hyring briefs when they suit you. You choose which briefs to accept, brief by brief. There is no exclusivity and no non-compete.
How do I get paid, and when?
Hyring collects the money from the client and holds it, and pays you monthly against approved milestones. Work is broken into agreed milestones or billing periods, the client approves each one in their portal, and your payment is released in the monthly run against those approvals. You never chase the client, we do, and you are not exposed to a client stretching thirty days into ninety, because the funds are already with us.
How long does the application take?
Downloading the app and applying takes about ten minutes. After that it depends on the screening assessment and on getting you in front of a senior person at Hyring, who interviews you and makes the final call. We will not give you a date, because we would rather be honest than hit a number. It is slower than a sign-up form, and the client promise depends on it being slower.
How quickly will I get my first brief?
Honestly, it depends on your discipline and market rather than on you. Specialists in disciplines with high live demand, such as cybersecurity or technology recruitment in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, typically see matched briefs within weeks. Niche specialisms in thinner markets take longer. We will tell you where your specialism sits during your conversation rather than letting you find out through silence.
Do I need the app?
Yes. Human capital specialists work through the Hyring app, which is where you receive matched briefs, manage live assignments, submit milestones and get paid. It is free. Companies posting briefs do not need the app and work entirely on the web.
What kinds of clients are on the platform?
Start-ups and scale-ups making first or fast hires, family businesses and family offices building a people function, corporates and private equity portfolio companies needing surge or specialist capacity, and government entities and industry bodies with nationalisation and compliance mandates. Concentrated in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the wider GCC, with work into more than 50 countries.
I am not a recruiter. I do HR, coaching, organisation design or employer brand work. Is there demand?
Yes, and it is the part of the bench clients most often cannot source elsewhere. Most organisations have a route to recruiters and no route at all to a fractional CHRO, an employee relations specialist for a live case, or an HR partner to build a function. If that is your discipline, you are exactly who we are short of.
What happens if an assignment goes wrong?
Tell us early. Assignments are structured in milestones rather than a single contingent fee, so an engagement that is not working can be unwound without either side losing everything. If the fault sits with the client's brief or process rather than your delivery, we will say so to them. If it sits with delivery, we will say so to you.
